Arab filmmakers invited to participate in Spain film festival (deadline June 15)

Arab filmmakers are invited to submit entries to the Amal Euro-Arab Film Festival 2010 which will be held in Spain in October 2010. Deadline to apply is June 15.

Interested applicants should submit an application form, stills of the film, a photo and CV of the director, certification of possessing the rights of the film, cession of copy and authorization and copy of script and summary translated into English, French or Spanish for subtitling. A preview copy of the film on DVD should be sent as well.

The Body as Muscular Fact:
A project of Yvonne Rainer and David Michalek

The Body as Muscular Fact is an installation for three channels of video
projection and sound focusing on images of the human body moving in extreme
slow motion. Three translucent screens are suspended from the ceiling of a
large, dark open space. Images of the full-length human figure can be seen
projected on the screens, visible from both sides. It is not without
significance that all of the figures will be unclothed, nor is this merely
because clothes offer conventional concealment. More significantly, the nude
figures will be devoid of the usual trappings that signal social position

Transart Institute offers the MFA Creative Practice, an international
masters program for working artists with summer residencies in Berlin,
winter residencies in New York and one-on-one advisement during two academic

Call for Artists & Performers: Outpost for Contemporary Art (LA area)

Outpost for Contemporary Art is putting a call out for artists,
musicians, performers, and performance acts to participate in the first
annual Outpost Cup.
The Outpost Cup is a soccer tournament for various age and skill levels
and a performance art and music happening to be held at Los Angeles'
scenic Vista Hermosa park on Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 10am-6pm.
The Outpost Cup is a fundraiser presented by and benefiting Outpost for
Contemporary Art, the Highland Park based non-profit that bridges the
local and international in its art and culture programs and is known for
programs that blur the boundaries of art, social practice and public
life.
The Outpost Cup also celebrates Outpost for Contemporary Art's upcoming
South American residency cycle, launching later this year.

Open Call to Artists for Valley Artists Studio Tour (VAST) (LA area)

San Fernando Valley artists are invited to submit their work for
consideration for the Valley Artists Studio Tour (VAST) 2010. Artists
will open their studios during the October 2-3 weekend for the public to
tour, meet the valley's many fine artists, and purchase their works.
Proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the non-profit programs
sponsored by the San Fernando Valley Arts Council. The application

NABROAD MAG is launching August 2010. The first issue will feature Norwegian Artists Abroad who challenge the understanding of geographical belonging and explore narratives of nature and geographical boundaries.

The MAG will host an editor, writer and designer in residence and feature works by Norwegian Artists Abroad, through image and text it will symbolise the phenomena of NEW Norwegian art made abroad.

MAG is collaborating with established artists, writers and organisations as well as up and coming artists and students.

NABROAD wants to hear from freelance writers, artists and designers.
