PIRATE CAMP is the first itinerant artists' camping program created to give free hospitality to a selection of young international artists during the most important contemporary art events worldwide.
The Burbank Green Alliance and the students of the California Resource Recovery Association will be conducting a survey of Reuse Artists and Artists who use "reused materials" in their work this week. We are in the process of putting together a pilot program/website for such Artists who need materials and donors who wish to divert resources that would have otherwise been recycled or landfilled.

The 6th Annual Pasadena ARTWalk is accepting artists submissions.
PASADENA, CA - The Pasadena Playhouse District Association is inviting artists to submit artwork for the 6th Annual Pasadena ARTWalk. This year’s Pasadena ARTWalk will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 11 am until 5 pm at El Molino Ave. between Colorado and Green St.
All artists are welcome to apply to exhibit in the Pasadena ARTWalk. Artists submitting work must fall in one of the following categories:
Drawing
Mixed media
New media
Painting
Photography
Sculpture
Application fees*:
- $100 - early submittal fee for applications received before June 30, 2011
- $150 - application fee submitted from July 1 – 29, 2011

OPEN CALL: THE WASSAIC PROJECT SUMMER FESTIVAL 2011
The Wassaic Project Summer Festival is an annual music and arts festival
that seeks to bring together artists of all disciplines, musicians in
varying genres, and the public to celebrate music and art in our historic
location.
The Summer Festival is a celebration of our annual programming. Artists in
Residents from the past year all participate in the festival, creating a
unique showcase of site specific and site sensitive work. Other artists in
the Summer Festival are curated from an open call by The Wassaic Project
staff and invited jurors, and invited Guest Curators.

San Fernando Valley artists are invited to submit their work for
consideration for the Valley Artist Studio Tour (VAST) 2011.
During the weekend of October 1st and 2nd, 2011, the public will be
invited to visit local artists' studios, meet the valley's many
fine artists, and purchase their work. This will be a ticketed event
with proceeds going to local arts programs sponsored by the San Fernando
Valley Arts Council. Tour hours will be from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on both
days. A reception for the artists will take place on Saturday, October
1st from 7:00 to 9:00 pm This event will allow the public to mingle with
the artists while enjoying live music and refreshments. A group
exhibition will be open to the public a week prior to the tour.

matralab (Hexagram Concordia) in collaboration with the SAT (Société des arts technologiques)
is organizing an artistic response to the disasters in Japan (see the website for more info).
The event will take place this Friday at the SAT, 1201, Boulevard Saint-Laurent in Montréal.
Around midnight we would open the stage for all Laptop/iPhone musicians to come together
and create a collective sound work, led and inspired by Eldad Tsabary, founder and director of the Concordia Laptop Orkestra (CLOrk).
