From December 5 to 8, 2013, Art Basel will host the 12th edition of its show in Miami Beach, the most prestigious art show in the Americas. Now in its second decade, the show features more than 250 leading galleries from North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa, displaying works by more than 4,000 artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Art Basel is currently accepting applications to four sectors: Galleries, Edition (new), Nova, and Positions. Exhibitors for each sector will be selected by the Art Basel in Miami Beach Selection Committee.

Impakt, foundation for critical media culture in Utrecht (NL), invites interested parties to submit curatorial proposals for the 2013 Impakt Festival, which will take place from 30 October to 3 November, focusing on the theme 'Capitalism Catch-22.'

The Impakt Festival is the annual culmination of the activities of Impakt as an organisation that specialises in critical media culture: a multimedia festival with conferences, readings, performances, screenings, exhibitions, presentations and music.

The curatorial proposal can be submitted by curators individually or collectively and should revolve around this year’s theme, 'Capitalism Catch-22.'

Whether you're a professional or first-timer, the SHINE Storytelling Series would like to hear from you! We are seeking people of all ages and walks of life to appear at our monthly event at the YWCA Westside, 2019 14th Street, Santa Monica.

SHINE is focused on true stories of positive change. Each month features a different theme.
Professional and amateur storytellers share the stage on the third Thursday of every month.

CSAV – Artists Research Laboratory is a project where dialogue and exchange among artists of different generations and nationalities stand at the heart of a unique artistic and learning experience. The lab is open to fifteen young artists of all nationalities, selected among the applicants by a jury. The programme lasts twenty-four days during which the participants attend a daily workshop activity and theoretical seminars run by the invited artist, the director, the curators and guest lecturers, as well as conferences held by artists, critics and experts of other disciplines.

The Emerging Leaders Council extends a call for interested bloggers for the upcoming Emerging Leaders Blog Salon for the Americans for the Arts ArtsBlog. The Salon will take place from April 15 through April 19 and will consist of roughly 20 blog posts responding to the following prompt:

"What would make where you live a better place or bring it to the next level?"

The Impact of Recession on Female Creative Professionals Living in Los Angeles:

I am requesting your voluntary help in a study I am conducting for my master’s thesis in psychology. It will focus on the impact of economic recession on female creative professionals living and working in Los Angeles. These individuals will be (i) over the age of 30, and (ii) members of one of the professional guilds including the Writers Guild, the Directors Guild, the Screen Actors Guild, and/or other membership guilds. You will be anonymous in the final report.
How can you help? The study will require you to fill out a questionnaire that will take 30 minutes. The following interview, which will take 1 hours will be held in a public space convenient for you. I can also debrief you with the findings.

Venice Arts Gallery is currently accepting proposals from established and
emerging curators and artists for its Fresh Perspectives Visiting Curator
Exhibition, scheduled to take place in November–December 2013. The goals of
the program are to engage and highlight new perspectives on photography,
film, multimedia and/or digital arts and to offer established and emerging
curators and artists in Los Angeles County the opportunity to present an
exhibition in a professional nonprofit gallery. Once chosen, the curator
will be solely responsible for selecting the artists and artworks for an
