Call for Artists: Countdown to Peace (deadline: end of Iraq war)

Artists Call to PEACE

http://pages.suddenlink.net/w2la_design/peace/index.htm

Inspired by collaborative projects like the Aids Memorial Quilt and Sonya Clark’s Beaded Prayers Project, we invite you to help create the “Countdown to PEACE.” Presented in calendar format, the project will begin with March 19, 2003 (the day the war in Iraq began) and will end when the war ends. At this point we are into the fifth year of the war; the calendar format allows us a way to measure the full extent of the war and gives us a visual sense of its continuing scope.

SPUNK: ON THE LEADING EDGE OF TOMORROW ( an invitation)

from me here and:
WWW. Artreview.com
Jim Messenger
in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Hey Y'all!

Hey everyone!! Hi. Why dont we put our heads together and do a 5 city on-line art exhibition,

The 5 cities send their pics to their 3 neighboors.
The recipient has to print them on good paper and show them in an appropriate gallery.
We have to all be on line at the same time for the virtual opening
and linked somehow so we can see each other.
We have to have cams to track the show and people at the openings and broadcast it live to all

Can we do it?

I've got a website purveyer who has a very likely gallery in my town
We need cameras, or phones with filming capability
etc etc

And on-line with cams like on MSN Messenger or whatever.

Let's call it SPUNK!!

ASPECT SEEKS NEW MEDIA ART SUBMISSIONS FOR VOLUME 12: VITAL

Due by March 26, 2008—ASPECT: The Chronicle of New Media Art, a biannual dvd publication, is currently accepting submissions of work best documented in a time-based format for Volume 12: Vital. This issue will explore that which is essential, grave, indispensable, and/or critical to existence.

The staff of ASPECT is asking curators, art critics, and members of the contemporary art community to help assemble and comment on works for the next issue by submitting a work of art on which they wish to provide audio commentary. Due to the format of the publication, the criteria for selection will include both the qualifications of the commentator and the quality of the work submitted. Audio recordings of the commentary will be assembled after the submissions have been selected.
