HYDROPHONIA – FESTIVAL OF HYDROPHONIC SOUND ART

– OPEN CALL FOR WORKSHOPS & PRESENTATIONS –

Hydrophonia is a festival dedicated to sound art made with
hydrophones, coordinated in conjunction with Sgaurdi Sonori Festival
in Rome Italy.

We are currently seeking proposals from people with experience in
hydrophone construction and recording to submit ideas for workshops
and/or presentations fthe Hydrophonia festival.

A proposal should contain the following:
an outline of the proposed workshop/talk
a list of equipment /or materials needed
– a rough budget

Keep in mind the participants will most likely be people with little
to no knowledge of underwater acoustics and recording so all
proposals should reflect this.

The 'Rencontres Internationales' will take place at the Centre Pompidou, at the Jeu de Paume national museum and in other key locations in Paris in November 2008. The same program will be presented in Madrid in April 2009 and in Berlin in June 2009.

Those three events will propose an international programming focusing on film, video and multimedia, gathering works of artists and filmmakers acknowledged on the international scene along with young artists and filmmakers.

Video journalists invited to submit non-fiction films

The 2008 VJ Awards is seeking non-fiction films from video journalists
who are single authors responsible for all production, including
research, editing and publishing. The deadline to submit an entry is
October 15.

The theme of this year's International Video Journalism Awards
is "unlimited access" and how the Internet converges different media
technology. The awards will cover many aspects of video journalism,
including films from television stations, publishing companies and
