Request for Proposals - Guest Curators at Brand Library Art Galleries

The Brand Library Art Galleries is pleased to accept submissions from
guest curators for exhibitions to be scheduled in 2014. This is an
exciting opportunity for curators to present group shows in the
re-opening year of Brand Library & Art Center.

Brand Library Art Galleries offer some of the most stunning exhibition
spaces in Southern California and the opportunity for residents and
visitors to view art in a magnificent setting. Its 3200 square foot
venue offers a dramatic exhibition space for an array of art experiences
that reflect a variety of media, styles, and cultures in the art world
and provide diverse viewing experiences. The Brand Library Art Galleries
consist of the Skylight Gallery a 2,800 SF exhibition space and Atrium

EXTENDED SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR LAWTF'S 2014 FESTIVAL

Due to significant last minute requests, LAWTF has expanded and extended its submissions to include original works from both male and female solo artists. Performers may represent disciplines that include actors, performance artists, dancers, comedians, storytellers, singers, and performance poets from throughout the world.

Send LAWTF your DVD depicting the exact program under consideration for the Festival (cued to 10 minute viewing segment of your entire piece). Your submission must be clear and audible for viewing. Please do not send audition tapes with only a collage of your performances. We must see a real time excerpt of your work. Up to 30 minutes of solo works may be performed in the Festival.

The gallery would like for all 2D artists (including photography), regardless of where they reside to apply to this competition by submitting their best representational and non-representational art (no theme), for inclusion into the gallery’s November 2013 online Group Art Exhibition.

Call for Art - Theme “Animals” Online Art Competition

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces an art call for the gallery’s 3rd Annual “Animals” Juried Art Competition for the month of September 2013. The gallery invites all 2D artists (including photography) from around the world to make online submissions for inclusion in to the Gallery’s October 2013 online group art exhibition.

Light Space & Time encourages entries from artists regardless of where they reside and regardless of their experience or education in the art field to send us your best interpretation of the theme “Animals". Our Day of the Dead exhibition theme is honoring fallen heroes who have had a personal impact in our lives: family members, celebrities, war heroes, or maybe a family pet. If you have had a hero in your life who has influenced you tremendously, please consider applying. Open entry to artists working in any media. No Entry fee. Announcing Design Competition: Long Beach, CA

Re-Envisioning East 7th Street: A
Design Competition Event kicks off today!

Sponsored in part by The East 7th
Street Collaborative, The Arts Council for Long Beach and the 1st and 2nd
District City Council Offices, this local/regional event encourages the
re-design and re-imagining of East 7th Street (Redondo Ave to Alamitos Ave).
We are seeking fresh modern ideas for what this important corridor could
become in the future! This event looks to explore ideas in Art and
Architecture and how they can relate to our neighborhoods in a functional and
purposeful way.

Professionals and Students are
welcome to apply. There is an honorarium for the top 3 entries and the
top 50 entries will be displayed along the street as part of an October Street
Event.
