Hello,
2009 was a difficult year for a lot of people. In response to the lost jobs, lost homes, major and minor tragedies, personal frustrations, heartbreak, etc., I am working on a project that called "2009 Was A Rough Year" and I am hoping that you would be willing to help me.
I would need you to:
1. Take a picture that represents the worst, most heartbreaking, or most frustrating moment you experienced in 2009.
2. E-mail it to me at lilly.mcelroy@gmail.com
3. Include as much or as little additional information as you would like.
I'm planning on turning this into a slide show and making a website. If you want to remain anonymous you can.
Please pass this on to anyone who might be interested.
Thank you for your help.

We are all experiencing the increasing frequency and often immediate impact of global events in our lives. How do creative people deal with it? From where do they derive their inspiration?
Our answer is that artists reach within themselves to find and tap into their creative process even as they are depicting external objects and events. The inner filter through which each artist looks at the world makes each piece of their art unique and irreplaceable.
The Baseball Reliquary Presents
LASORDAPALOOZA
An Art Exhibition & Literary Contest
OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS & WRITERS:
In September 2009, a life-sized portrait of Dodger legend Tommy Lasorda was unveiled at the Smithsonian Institution´s National Portrait Gallery to commemorate his legacy as one of baseball´s greatest goodwill ambassadors. On the occasion of his portrait being placed under the same roof as those of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, Lasorda remarked, "I just can´t believe something like this is happening to me." When a reporter asked Tommy what was next for him, his reply was, "Heaven." Little did Tommy know at the time that the next major honor in his storied career would be LASORDAPALOOZA.

Call for Mail Art Submissions
Postmarked 2010 6th Annual International Mail Art Exhibition
and Silent Auction Fundraiser
Exhibit: March 5-14, 2010
Requesting your original mail art for display and sale to raise funds for The Claremont Forum's Prison Library Project, which sends thousands of books free to inmates throughout the country. Hundreds of volunteers package books (donated to the Project by our local community), which are then mailed in response to inmate letters requesting reading material while incarcerated. For many years, The Claremont Forum received these requests in hand-illustrated envelopes created by the prisoners who sent them. It is in this tradition that we present POSTMARKED as our very appropriate fundraiser. Please join us for this international event!
