Cartoonists can enter an editorial cartoon competition.
The Global Editorial Cartoon Competition, sponsored by the Center for International Private Enterprise, invites entries that capture key issues affecting the development of the cartoonist's country. The three categories are: democracy, corruption and gender equality.
Judges include Pat Oliphant, a Pulitzer-Prize-winning political cartoonist, and Michael Duffy, the Assistant Managing Editor of TIME. The final winners will be selected through a public online voting process.
The 2nd West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival

The Electronic Media Area of the West Virginia University Department of Art is pleased to announce a call for entries to the 2nd annual West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival. We seek independent, unique and compelling work in film, video and animation. All interested artists, filmmakers, and multimedia enthusiasts are encouraged to submit. Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery presents a Juried Competition, in which 2D artists from around the world are called upon to make online submissions for the theme “Botanicals” for inclusion into the April 2011 online group exhibition.

Festival Images is launching another round of its project competitions!
Artists, film-makers and photographers have until April 15th 2011 to enter the 8th Vevey International Photo Award and the 6th European First Film Award.
These competitions represent a unique form of support for contemporary original works, with a free choice of subject matter and genre.
Eligibility
All artists worldwide are eligible to enter. All entries
must be original and have been executed within the
past five years. Works must not have been
previously shown in this gallery. Acceptable media
are: Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor and Drawings.
Framed pieces must be ready for hanging, with proper
screw eyes and wire to correspond with the weight of
the art work. No sawtooth hangers or string hangers.
Two-dimensional works may not exceed 60" in height
or width including the frame, and may not weigh more
than 100 pounds. Wall pieces, other than paintings,
must be suitably mounted for Gallery exhibition. Art
work may not be removed until the end of the
exhibition. Artists are responsible for shipping and
insuring costs to and from the City of Brea Art Gallery.
This Spring, the Tubman-Mahan Art Gallery of The Center for Green Urbanism, located at 3938 Benning Road, NE in Washington, DC, will begin selling unique, one-of-a-kind artist greeting cards printed on or made of recycled paper and from eco-friendly materials. Handmade original art cards or cards highlighting original photography (by the submitter) featuring nature, landscapes, etc. are welcomed. Each card must be a small work of original art.
We will consider cards on consignment OR wholesale orders. Card submissions will be juried. A limited number of artists will be selected.

Invitation to submit short films for the Sixth Annual Big Sur International Short Film Screening Series at the Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur, California.

The screenings take place after dark, under the stars, using state-of-the-art equipment, in our outdoor amphitheater beneath the towering redwoods of Big Sur, California. June 9 - August 28, 2011.
Because of the wonderful response we have received over the last few years from the community, both local and world wide, we are truly excited about making this year’s event even better.
