AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

QMAD, Queens Media Arts Development, invites artists to submit works for consideration in the upcoming Performance Art Festival, ITINERANT. This year's program focuses on works that treat notions of intimacy, self-reflection, and introspection. Artists working in contemporary performance art, visual performance art, and transmedia (sound, video and emerging technologies) are encouraged to apply.

ITINERANT 2012 will be presented in Brooklyn on Friday, March 30, 8 – 11 pm at Grace Exhibition Space; in Queens on Saturday, April 21, 6 – 9 pm at Crossing Art Gallery; in Manhattan on Saturday, April 28, 7 – 10 pm at Floor 4 Art, and in the Bronx (date and place to be confirmed).

Submission Guidelines:
Online Deadline is Saturday, March 17, Midnight.

The WFAE Newsletter, a bimonthly publication of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology, is interested in contributions of short 700-900 word articles, or OP-ED pieces, about topics related to soundscape ecology. Six featured articles are published each year. Articles may include images, video and sound links.

Example topics:

Conducting winter soundwalks
Preservation of urban soundscapes
Current research projects in acoustic ecology or related disciplines
Designing public gardens with an ear to creating soundscape experiences
Background music in commercial venues
Electric vehicles and pedestrian safety issues
Teaching children about soundscape ecology
Hearing loss and social issues
Documenting community soundscapes
Soundwalk or Listening walk - is there a difference?

Tossed Salad Call for Entries

Continuing the Arroyo Arts Collective’s tradition of placing art in
unexpected places, the Collective presents Tossed Salad, a series of art
events at Highland Park’s Old L.A. Farmers’ Market, during four Tuesdays in
May. Each week will feature a different art practice: video, performance,
installation work, and interactive presentations. The Collective envisions a
broad range of themes, including, but not limited to, food, health and
wellness, environmental concerns and community building.

Proposals are warmly invited for new cyberformance work (live online performance) to be presented at the 121212 UpStage Festival of Cyberformance, to take place online on 12 December 2012.
This year we are breaking the format of the annual UpStage festivals with a two-part festival. The first part, "Walking Backwards into the Future", will feature remounted UpStage performances from past festivals.
