GALERIE NUEDGE, a professional commercial contemporary art gallery dedicated to the dissemination of contemporary art (painting, sculpture, photography multimedia) is inviting artists to submit their portfolio.

To be considered by the selection committee submissions must include the following:

1. 10-15 visuals descriptive of your work on a cd/jpeg files detailing titles, sizes, and availability
2. An artists statement
3. A curriculum vitae
4. Contact information

"All Women" Juried Art Competition

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces an “All Women” Juried Art Competition for the month of January 2012. The gallery urges all 2D (women only) artists to submit their best art for inclusion into the gallery’s February 2012 online group exhibition.

The gallery would like to be able to exhibit only the best art that a women artist can submit with any 2D media, in any style and about any subject matter. Women are encouraged to submit their art regardless of where they reside and regardless of their experience or education in the art field.

Open to Interpretation is now calling on photographers to submit images for consideration in a juried book competition.

Project Details
Open to Interpretation is a collaborative book project bringing together photographers, poets and writers. Each book begins with a themed call for photos. The chosen photos become the literary inspiration for the writers' submissions. A book is created that matches each winning photo with two stories or poems that offer different interpretations of the image. The unique collaboration adds new dimensions to both the photos and the written word.

Book Title: Open to interpretation
Theme: Fading Light
Juror: George Slade, Principal at re: photographica
Submission Fee: $40 for 5 images, $10 each additional

Sound is Art: Seeking Submissions

I am eager for a new exciting sounds to populate my growing blog, Sound is Art.

With 500+ subscribers, it is a great place to share your work be heard! I hope
to post recordings of your environment, sound art, home made instruments and
other audio oddities. In particular, I am looking for the unique. There will be
no compensation for these submissions but hopefully some satisfaction in
sharing.

SOUND WORKS ARE PRESENTED IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES

ARCHIVAL RECORDINGS: Old vinyl snippets and other bits of sound history

FIELD RECORDINGS: Recordings taken from the natural environment with minimal
studio processing.

UNUSUAL INSTRUMENTS & GEAR: Recordings from unique electronic and acoustic
instruments.

ASPECT: The Chronicle of New Media Art, a biannual DVD publication, is currently accepting submissions of time-based work for V20: THE CINEMATIC.

New genres of artmaking are heavily informed by the cultural, formal, and theoretical issues surrounding popular cinema. We seek works that explore the complex relationship between cinema and new media. We will review installation, video, performance, sound and any other work best documented in time-based format.
