Open Call for Works

I will be hosting the May edition of Giant Ear ))) the two-hour
internet radio program sponsored by the New York Society of Acoustic
Ecology. The program will be based on recordings of 24-hour periods
of specific places. I am interested in hearing your recordings and
your strategy for making comprehensible the aural soundscape of one
place over a 24 hour period.
Please send submissions in mp3 format through an upload service
(yousendit, etc.) or email me for snail mail. Include in your
submissions a statement about how your recordings were made.

Dear Colleague,

The City of Brea Art Gallery is producing an exhibition entitled “Home From the Front” featuring artwork from veterans of recent combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are hoping we can work with you to reach out to the veteran community.
“Home From the Front” is conceived without any political intent or editorial comments regarding the military, the war, or veteran’s affaires in general. The voices, opinions, and viewpoints will be those of the participating artists alone. Further, subject matter need not include reference to military duty, politics, the war, etc. This is an opportunity for the artists to express themselves in a forum that will interact with the general public.

Artist hosting a group Show for a Gallery Space for a group exhibit in LA

The VENICE BEACH BOARDWALK ARTIST COLLECTIVE is planning a group
Exhibition of paintings and limited number of graphic art pieces in
late April, 2009.

We are looking to rent, or split commission fee, a small gallery to
host this Show preferably close to Venice, but it can be Downtown
LA, Midtown, WestSide LA or Hollywood areas.

There are twelve Artists providing works, the number determined by
the space. It is hosted by lead artist: COURTNEY of New York City,
an Abstract Impressionist painter and multi-media artist.

We will produce a large, comprehensive Catalog Press Kit for the
Show that will be sent to all Los Angeles and Southern California

The 18-week film submission period for Lola Kenya Screen-eastern Africa's only audiovisual media festival, production workshop and market exclusively designed for children and youth-opened on December 1, 2008.Lola Kenya Screen, therefore, is calling for film entries in all genres,lengths, and formats from all over the world for the 4th annual Lola Kenya Screen that runs August 10-15, 2009 in Nairobi, Kenya.

This is the big one. We are planning a moving performance/parade that will take in the whole Art by the Ferry Festival in St George Staten Island. We need lots of artists to move with us and who will set up performances in different spots along the parade route.

This is a call for fixed media electroacoustic audio-visual music works exploring the interaction between sound and image.
