The Viewmaster Foundation from Maastricht – Netherlands, together with Intro in situ; music in context in Maastricht, announces an Open Call for composers and (sound) artists to send in work, to be included in the large-scale video art and sound art exhibition Paraphasing Babel – Video Art and Soundscapes on Language in Public Space. The exhibition will run in the evenings from October 19 to November 18 in public space in Maastricht and Heerlen, the two largest cities of the Southern Netherlands, close to the borders with Belgium and Germany.

27 international video artists and 7 Sound artists will participate in the exhibition. Two sound artworks will be selected through this Open Call. The deadline is September 17th.

As the nights draw in and there's a definite nip to the air SoundFjord keep the summer momentum alive by introducing to their Educational Programme six quick-fire residencies (of one week) for artists working with sound (sound art, radio, writing, phonography, etc), starting 05 November 2012.

Dates for residencies: Residency One: 05-11 November; Residency Two: 12-18 November; Residency Three: 19-25 November; Residency Four: 26 Nov - 02 Dec; Residency Five: 03-09 December; Residency Six: 10-16 December.

MOLAA's Altar Contest is a juried display at the Museum of Latin American Art from Saturday, October 27 and during MOLAA's Dia de los Muertos Festival, on Sunday, October 28th, 2012 from 12 p.m.-5 p.m. To enter, complete the registration form. Box Populi: The Art of the Protest plays with the phrase Vox Populi,
which means Òvoice of the people.Ó In this spirit, (u)ntitled: The
Wignall Museum Curatorial Club would like to invite you to participate
in an exhibition open to anyone using the most basic materials -
cardboard and text. Cardboard protest signs have been photographed and
shared through the news and social media websites such as Facebook and
Tumbler and their messages have become part of the popular culture.
Protest signs are portable, disposable, and frequently replicated.

Casa 0101 is looking for LGBTQ-minded visual artists interested in
showcasing their work in the theater's gallery space for the run of
Brown and Out 2 – a short play festival celebrating the Latino/a
LGBTQ experience.

We are looking to showcase about 4-5 pieces from 5 different
LGBTQ-minded artists. The show runs from September 28-October 21.
