A.I.R. Gallery invites curators to submit proposals for our next CURRENTS exhibition that will take place between January 4 and February 4, 2018. CURRENTS began in 2010 as a timely and innovative biennial exhibition program. CURRENTS addresses contemporary issues that warrant expanded critical attention in the art world.

Applications open for the Guerilla Science Artist & Scientist residency!
Music, cabaret, theater, and art are pervasive at music festivals - so why not science? The Pratt Institute, New York and Guerilla Science collective are hosting a residency for artist-scientist collaborations to bring transformational experiences to major art and music festivals. We are seeking applicants to develop new forms of site-specific interactive installations and live events that mix science with art, music, and play.

BronxArtSpace invites Bronx artists to apply for its inaugural Summer Residency + Open Studios program. This program responds to a crucial need for affordable studio space and professional development opportunities for emerging Bronx artists.
For 6 weeks, 6 Bronx-based artists will have 24-hour access to BAS gallery and the Bruckner Building to use as their studio. Each artist will have approximately 500 square feet. Artists will additionally be awarded $500 to use towards materials.
Throughout the residency, BAS will organize studio visits for the participants with curators, writers and other artists. In culmination, artists will open their studio for a public reception.

Fall 2017 Puppet BloK at Dixon Place

Puppet BloK features new work ranging from conventional puppetry to object theatre and everything in between. We're seeking submissions from artists of all backgrounds and career stages who are looking for an opportunity to develop new ideas and experiment with puppetry. Proposals are being accepted for new work at all phases of development from 5 to 45 minutes in length, for a one night presentation.

In rural Haiti, the Lakou communal living system embodies the intersection of land, family, and spirituality. Lakou members develop reciprocal patterns of resource sharing and jointly work the land. HCX's newest program, Lakou NOU ("Our Yard" in Haitian Creole), is a creative adaption of this traditional model. This project provides four artists of Haitian descent with the opportunity to create and present new work by connecting their skills and talents to four traditionally underserved Brooklyn neighborhoods, home to generations of Haitians and Haitian-Americans: Crown Heights, Canarsie, East Flatbush, and Flatbush.

The Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt requests submissions for a new peace logo. The occasion: the discursive thematic exhibition PEACE that will be presented at the Schirn from July 1 to September 24, 2017. The new peace logo will be chosen by an independent jury, will be remunerated with prize money, and will be integrated into the exhibition communications. The deadline for receipt of entries is May 8, 2017.

Inspired by the location in Queens, NY, Tongue Tide invites creative practitioners, artists, performers, researchers, and educators to submit proposals for new artworks, workshops, and performances with the subject matter of language. Artists will receive stipends to participate.
Tongue Tide is one of Flux’s major 2017 exhibitions and is curated by Emireth Herrera and Christina Freeman.
