Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship at Cornell University

With the sponsorship of the Society for the Humanities, the Department of
History of Art at Cornell University invites applications for a two-year
Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship. The term of the appointment is from July 1,
2011 to June 30, 2013. We welcome applicants whose research and teaching focus on
the overlapping areas of popular culture and media in the United States. It
would be particularly useful for students in the Department if the person's
research and teaching covered some combination of: modern and contemporary
art, popular culture, including media and fashion, and gender and sexuality
studies.

New MFA in Art and Ecology at the University of New Mexico

The new MFA program in Art and Ecology at the University of New Mexico is an
interdisciplinary, research-based program engaging contemporary art
practices. Students develop ecological and cultural literacy with a
conceptual foundation and a wide range of production skills, including
sculpture, social practice, and digital media. Students in Art and Ecology
have the opportunity to work on various collaborative and interdisciplinary
projects with departments across UNM and on comprehensive thesis projects
integrating community and ecological research. Coursework includes the Land
Arts of the American West program, a semester-long travel and place-based
arts pedagogy.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The newly re-organized Department of Film/Video at Pratt Institute seeks
exceptional applicants for the position of Chairperson. The ideal candidate
will bring the vision and experience necessary to assume the academic and
administrative leadership of the department and build upon the current BFA
program. The Department is located on Pratt's historic 25-acre Brooklyn
campus in the culturally diverse neighborhood of Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
This administrative appointment carries a twelve-month per year workload and
a three-year contract that may be renewed.

Cityworks Design is seeking up to four artists who have a history working on the Eastside to join their Preliminary Design Team on the Eastside Access Project, a Measure R funded project intended to use urban design to enhance the streetscape and improve linkages for four Metro Gold Line Stations and their surrounding neighborhoods.

The selected artist(s) will use their expertise and knowledge of the local community to identify public art opportunities while adding their artistic influence to the conceptual design of elements in the public right of way. These ideas should be reflective of the local community, buildable and easy to maintain.

Micro-Fest: LA

One Festival – 3 Cities.

From October 2010 through January 2011, the Network of Ensemble Theaters
(NET) is hosting a triptych of "Micro-Festivals" across the
United States designed to build a national conversation around ensemble
theatermaking. Presented in partnership with the Literary Managers and
Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA), these 2 and half-day "Micro-Fests"
highlight ensemble performances and practices, each centering on a
specific theme.

Micro-Fest:LA will investigate how ensembles are creating new work.
Activities will be centered at the Atwater Village Theater in Los
Angeles, December 3-5, 2010.

The Arts Council for Long Beach and the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency announce a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select artists/ artist teams and/ or graphic designers for the creation of street banners in redevelopment areas with the City of Long Beach.

Program Description
Artists/ artist teams and graphic designers will be commissioned to design street banners to be installed on light poles in targeted neighborhoods throughout Long Beach. Artist/ artist teams and/ or graphic designers may incorporate drawings, paintings, photographs, and/ or text to merge art, culture and the community.

BOSTON COURT PERFORMING ARTS CENTER SEEKS PERFORMERS FOR ITS 2011 ARTTALK

Performance proposals are now being accepted for the fourth annual ARTTalk. ARTTalk is scheduled to take place at Boston Court Performing Arts Center on Saturday, March 12th, 2011 from 11:00am until 5:00pm. Participants will be allotted one half hour to perform a piece that focuses on Words and Communication. All performances must be acoustical in nature. Boston Court will provide general lighting and no rehearsal time is allotted. Previous performance genres include film, storytelling, singing, and poetry. Participants will be provided a small stipend. The deadline for proposals is December 3, 2010.

Little Fish Theatre (LFT) is a program of Shakespeare by the Sea (SBTS). It began in January of 2002 and
offers a year-long line-up of new, classic and contemporary plays. This primarily volunteer-run company is
energetic, imaginative and teeming with positive energy. The theatre space—a converted tow yard—is

I work with 350.org, an international climate campaign with a flair for the dramatic. On 10/10/10 we coordinated over 7000 community-building, carbon-mitigating actions in 188 countries for our Global Work Party. Now, in the run up to the next round of UN negotiations which will be held in Cancun, Mexico beginning the weekend of Thanksgiving we are working to pull off an ambitious global art initiative.
