The City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) Percent
for Public Art Program is seeking artists interested in creating
site-specific public artwork for newly constructed Police Department
(LAPD) and Fire Department (LAFD) facilities located throughout Los
Angeles. Artists commissioned as a result of this
Request for Qualifications will design, fabricate, and install
independent and/or integrated public artworks that will be accessed
and experienced by passers-by, facility visitors, and public safety
employees, as part of the unified texture and fabric of our City's
neighborhoods. Potential opportunities and sites for artwork exist on

The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) Percent
for Public Art Program is seeking professional curators interested in
creating permanent exhibitions at newly constructed LAPD facilities
located throughout Los Angeles. The DCA, through this partnership with
the LAPD, is interested in creating interior and exterior arts
corridors at approximately eight LAPD facilities in order to transform
daily encounters into opportunities to educate, engage, and impact
LAPD staff and the visiting public via site-specific, curated
exhibitions featuring work by Los Angeles-based artists. The LAPD's
newly-constructed, architecturally-distinct facilities are unique
landmarks in the City; architectural features among the facilities

work as contract faculty at a youth arts non-profit in Venice. Our
workshops run for two hours, once a week. We are looking to hire two
new photography instructors, that can commit to teaching once or twice
a week (with the help of 2 or 3 volunteer artist mentors), for 10
weeks from February 5th to April 23rd, 2011.

ABOUT STUDIO
Studio was created to give new artists an opportunity to
hone their skills and offer established artists a chance to test new material
and works-in-progress before an audience. A revolving panel of working artists
curates each edition, selecting artist through a live showing process.

The California Community Foundation will award $280,000 in Fellowships for Visual Artists to 15 Los Angeles individual artists. Eleven fellowships at $20,000 each will be awarded to mid-career artists and four fellowships at $15,000 each will be awarded to emerging artists.
The Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI), in partnership with The James
Irvine Foundation and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, is now
offering the following grant opportunities that you may be eligible to apply
for through the Creative Capacity Fund:
1) NextGen Professional Development Grants: Provides grant opportunities up
to $1,000 for eligible emerging arts leaders to take workshops, attend
conferences or work with career coaches or management consultants.
Applications are due on the 15th of the month with a one month turnaround.
To be eligible, individuals must:
• Be between the ages of 18-35, at the time of application
• Be currently working with a California nonprofit arts organization as an
administrator, artist or board member

We are pleased to announce that The Kenneth A. Picerne Foundation is now accepting Artist Outreach Project Grant applications. This grant supports accomplished visual, literary and performing artists, 55 years of age or older, who are motivated to give back to their community. The Foundation will award up to twenty artists $12,000 to provide educational, mentoring or therapeutic art experiences of their own design to underserved people who lack opportunities to engage in meaningful arts programs.
