Artist Juanli Carrión is looking for interviewees to collaborate in his
upcoming public art project "Outer Seed Shadow #01".
We are looking for immigrants who were born outside the US and that
currently are living in Manhattan. The interviews will be held till February
2014.
Over the past year Carrión has been carrying out interviews with immigrants
living across Manhattan, allowing them to tell their stories of arrival in
their own words and symbolically, in the form of plants they’ve selected
that best represent themselves and their countries of origin. With the great
variety of plants derived from dozens of interviews, the artist is creating
a 4,000 sq. ft. interactive community garden in the shape of Manhattan to be
installed in SoHo’s Duarte Square in May 2014.

*THE ETERNAL TELETHON SEEKS PARTICIPANTS!*
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your performance hungry masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your student loans.
Send these, the homeless, eternal convalescents to me,
I lift my lamp beside the Salton Sea!”
*The Eternal Telethon: The Power Suit Edition*
The Eternal Telethon Telethon is excited to be working with resident artist
Eamonn Fox at Grand Central Art Center, presenting a telethon during the
closing of his show on October 5th. We are seeking Santa Ana area artists,
and those who wish to engage the area art community, to present
performances of all types as part of the Eternal Telethon’s mission to
raise money for an artist’s convalescent home to be built on the Salton
Sea.
