Andrew Edlin Gallery invites you to to participate in:
Et Tu, Art Brute?
Andrew Edlin Gallery is pleased to announce a new project, Et Tu, Art Brute?, which will be on view in our underground space.
What is the definition of an artist today? How does it feel to make art? Who is allowed to participate and on what terms? These are some of the questions that Et Tu, Art Brute? explores.
This show has a very simple premise; we invite everyone-no matter their background, ability, level of success or anonymity-to contribute an original work of art. Through this show we want to expand the parameters of who can be a part of the art world, who can be called an artist, and how art articulates one's agency in the world.

The Anamorphosis Prize was established to promote excellence, dialogue and excitement in the field of self-published photobooks and photo-based artist books.
The word anamorphosis is derived from the Greek, ana meaning again and morphe meaning form. Anamorphosis is a distortion that demands a change in perspective from the viewer in order to be properly and completely viewed. This can be interpreted today as a whole new way of looking at things.

For this year’s Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) Martha Naranjo Sandoval will be taking over FluxFactory’s gallery to build and present an ofrenda. Ofrendas are altars in which Mexicans remember our deceased loved ones. This ofrenda will be different from the traditional form, as it will be interpreted through Martha Naranjo Sandoval’s art practice. As is tradition however, it will offer our community an opportunity to remember our loved ones who have passed, and celebrate their life.
Martha will be printing photographs of those we would like to honor on rice paper to make papel picado. This is a community ofrenda, which means that anyone who is interested in having their loved ones remembered is invited.
