Call for works
The WRO Media Art Biennale is the leading international forum for new media art in Poland and Central Europe. Since its inception in 1989, WRO has been presenting art forms created using new media for artistic expression and communication, exploring current creative territories and building a critical perspective toward emerging issues in art and society.
Now accepting submissions for the Creative Divergents Winter 2010 Showcase. All forms of creative works are encouraged - any media, subjects, and styles are welcome. Open to all ages, internationally. Winning submission determined by creative vision, innovation, potential to engage an audience, presentation (i.e. quality of the images submitted), and overall impression.
$1,000 (USD) award.
$5 fee per submission (includes up to 3 images).

Dear People,
I am a young sound artist from Belgium, and I'm currently building a new installation called Soundtracks.
And to build the installation, I need your help. The idea behind soundtracks is to build an archive of memories of sound. Memories of sounds that were important to you, that struck you or stayed with you. Soundtracks wants to research which kind of sounds get remembered, and how they are remembered. Can we hear those sounds again in our heads, or can we only remember the circumstances of the situation; the outlines, the edges of the sound?
And that's why I would like to ask you to take a moment and try to find your recollection of a sound, a sound that was important to you.

CARROUSEL DEL LOUVRE
PILAR CITOLER´S INTERNATIONAL PRIZE FOR CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHY is a contemporary oriented photography contest that had its first edition on 2006 in Paris, coinciding with PARIS-PHOTO. This year, 2010, will be its fifth edition. To mark this occasion an assembly with specialized press will be conducted on November 17th, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Paris.
Works for the fifth edition can be submitted from November 24th to December 3rd, 2010 (For guidelines go to: www.premiopilarcitoler.es).
THE VIDEO SHOW - Call for entries. All original video work accepted. Single
channel and Video Installation. Shorts, experimental, poetic, narrative,

The Moving Image Review & Art Journal (MIRAJ) is the first peer-reviewed
publication devoted to artists' film and video, and its contexts. It is
published twice a year in print by Intellect Books in collaboration with the
CCW Graduate School, University of the Arts London. MIRAJ offers a widely
distributed international forum for debates surrounding all forms of
artists' moving image and media artworks.
The editors invite contributions from art historians and critics, film and
media scholars, curators, and, not least, practitioners. We seek pieces that
offer theories of the present moment but also writings that propose
historical re-readings. We welcome essays that:
