The fifth edition of the Fair will take place between 23rd and 26th of May 2012 at Pabellón 2 of Fira Barcelona. The aim of SWAB is to offer an insight into the latest trends in contemporary art through a careful selection of the exhibiting galleries. The City of Norwalk, CA is currently accepting artist contact information (name, mailing address, email, etc) for a public art project at one of our local parks. The City's goal is to formulate an art project that will bridge the relationship between the area's surrounding geography, history, and the Park's users. The ideal art piece(s) for the park project would include an interactive element that is both educational and attractive to children and aesthetically appealing to passersby.

City is asking to receive this information by mid/late November 2011.

In celebration of Jeffrey Kahane's 15th anniversary as LACO music
director, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra will launch artist Luke
Jerram's art installation Play Me, I'm Yours on April 12, 2012.
Thirty decorated pianos will be placed in publicly accessible spaces
throughout Los Angeles County for all to play and enjoy. LACO actively
seeks qualifications from professional artists and community
organizations to create original artwork, using the piano as the canvas.
LACO also seeks qualifications from public sites and community hubs
within Los Angeles County that would like to host pianos for the
three-week installation.

The fair offers exhibition spaces from 30 sqm to 100 sqm for galleries and art projects.

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission's Civic Art Program is seeking an artist or artist team to execute artwork for the El Cariso Community Regional Park in Sylmar, an incorporated community in the San Fernando Valley.

ARTWORK
The selected artist or artist team will work closely with the project design team to develop the artwork. Opportunities for artwork include paving treatments at the entrance and/or the creation of canopies for the seating areas around the newly constructed soccer fields. The artwork should consider the vast offerings at the park, as well as reflect the history and diversity of the local community.

Untuned Piano Project
Open call

SoundFjord has had the good fortune to come into the possession of an upright piano – a C. Bustard (from
Collard and Collard, London) – that has been in the Lewis family for around 100 years. The piano has recently
been restrung, but has not been tuned.

The current owner, had kindly loaned us the instrument until the end of the year. We are excited to have the
piano available for use at the gallery, Monday–Friday, from 07 November to 02 December 2011.

Whilst we have the piano we encourage interested parties to utilise the piano – and its untuned nature – in

SET Gallery is pleased to announce an Open Call from guest curator Agata Iordan for the show BRURAL: Art/&/of/♥/vs./or/Design

Brooklyn artists with formal design education and/or who work as designers are welcome to apply.

The exhibition will examine the nature of art and design, their boundary conditions, similarities and juxtaposition. It will include art works and samples of design from each artist. The art work in any media will be installed in the gallery, and the design project will be shown as documentation (sketches, drawings, photos, screenshots).

a. Artist Statement with explanation of relation to both art and design, including answers to the following questions:

Issues in Performance at LACE on October 29th, 2011 from 10am to 6pm.

Calling All Dancers!

The San Marino Gallery is searching for dance groups to perform at its
first annual Los Angeles Art Experience
, a three-day celebration of the
visual and performing arts October 14th – 16th. The event will
feature over 100 masterpieces by the gallery's contemporary
artists, eclectic cuisine and cocktails, and celebrity guests.

Following a grand premiere on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday's
events will include performances throughout the day. Dancers of all
types from throughout Los Angeles are welcome. This is a wonderful
opportunity for your group to be exposed to many prominent Angelinos
who appreciate the performing arts.
