Call for fiction films by artists
Submission deadline: December 15, 2016
How do artists who work with moving images observe reality through the magnifying glass of fiction and narration? How do they use narration to fictionalize the world?
The third edition of KINO DER KUNST, a unique worldwide mixture of art exhibition and film festival, will place special emphasis on how contemporary artists view our rapidly changing reality. The festival will be held from April 19 to 23, 2017 in movie theaters, museums and galleries throughout Munich, including in the Pinakothek der Moderne, the Brandhorst Museum, the Kunstverein München, the Espace culturel Louis Vuitton and the University of Film and Television.

Sofia Underground 2017 - hundred / сто
eXAF.org
Sofia Underground Performance Art Festival started in 1997 as a series of performances unfolding in a long happening.
Over time, Sofia Underground has evolved into a forum, an event that showcases and debates contemporary art in interaction with the independent scene. A meeting where emerging, established, local and international artists can experiment, create, exchange and collaborate spontaneously on the fly. A space and time continuum with its own unique energy and atmosphere. A form of resistance, of sober questioning of reality by the means of art.

How does one inhabit emptiness? There is a tension and struggle between the will of the space in preserving its void and the will of the forces that wish to occupy it. This conflict became the subject matter of conversation between the Director of EMST (National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens), Katerina Koskina, and curator Lanfranco Aceti after they shared their concerns for the realization of any exhibition starting from zero. These concerns are only magnified in the case of the opening of a new museum, as is the current situation of the EMST.
