Chilean filmmakers can submit documentaries in postproduction phase to a festival that will provide select projects with funds for completion. Deadline: June 21.
Chile's Festival Internacional de Cine SANFIC in Santiago will select up to six films. Winners will receive financial support to be used in the postproducion and distribution.
The selected films will be exhibited to the jury during the festival, in private sessions and with limited access.

Young writers, aged 18 to 30, from across the world are invited to submit essays on how to create opportunities for youth to strengthen democracy and the private sector in their own countries. Deadline to apply: June 18.
The competition is seeking essays in three categories: 1) Democracy that delivers, 2) enterpreneurship and society and 3) women and participation.
Essays should be between 2,000 and 3,000 words. In each category, first, second, and third place authors will receive a US$1,000 honorarium, and will have their essays published by the competition organizer, the Center for International Private Enterprise.

European journalists can submit works to a photo contest under the theme "Tolerance, Transparency, Tradition and Trust." Deadline: May 10.
The award, sponsored by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), aims to highlight tolerance and non-discrimination.
Five winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Astana, Kazakhstan. An exhibition of photos will be on display in Astana, on June 29 and 30.

The winning essays will be featured in a book published by Mexico's Fomento Cultural Grupo Salinas.

A project of Yvonne Rainer and David Michalek
The Body as Muscular Fact is an installation for three channels of video
projection and sound focusing on images of the human body moving in extreme
slow motion. Three translucent screens are suspended from the ceiling of a
large, dark open space. Images of the full-length human figure can be seen
projected on the screens, visible from both sides. It is not without
significance that all of the figures will be unclothed, nor is this merely
because clothes offer conventional concealment. More significantly, the nude
figures will be devoid of the usual trappings that signal social position

Seventh Annual DIGit Media Exposition, June 18–July 10, 2010 in Narrowsburg,
New York. Both amateur and professional media artists are welcome to submit.
Works will be presented in several venues throughout Narrowsburg, including
the Delaware Arts Center and the Tusten Theatre. A panel of artists,
filmmakers, and sound artists jury the works and present the awards.
