the post-renaissance western music tradition.

Since 2005, COLLABORATORY has explored various themes and subject matter:
communities of color, immigration & democracy, and caring for the
environment. Our interfaith coalition-building piece Leaps of Faith, which
was developed over two Collaboratory sessions, recently had its world
premiere at the World Parliament of Religions in Melbourne, Australia

2011 Exhibition Season Proposals Being Accepted through August 1, 2010
Legacy
18th Street Arts Center is pleased to announce an open call for
exhibition proposals from artists for our 2011 season. Proposals are
based on an annual theme, which for 2011 is the idea of an artistic
‘Legacy’ (see website for more info http://18thstreet.org/get-involved/opportunities)
. Selected artist proposals receive an exhibition and a residency in
the 18th Street galleries. We are seeking proposals that include
public programming that promotes public dialogue as an important part
of the overall proposal.
For Legacy we are particularly interested in artists who worked in
Southern California between 1960 and 1990 in the areas of performance,

P.S. ARTS is currently seeking experienced substitute, part-time and
full-time teaching artists in Dance, Music, Theater and Visual Arts.
P.S. ARTS¹ mission is to improve the lives of children by bringing arts
education to underserved public schools and their communities.
Responsibilities:
· Develop a sequential, standards-based curriculum in the arts
· Teach an arts discipline across multiple grade levels
· Address the learning needs of diverse student populations
· Identify and plan cross curriculum connections in and across multiple
subject areas
· Submit documentation of teaching practice, including curriculum,
lesson plans and assessments.
· Represent P.S. ARTS amongst multiple school community stakeholders,
THE WORLD'S FIRST NON-VISUAL RESIDENCY
NEW LIFE RESIDENCY is the world's first non-visual residency program for
artists. The residency is organized by Wooloo as a work of Manifesta 8, the
European Biennial of Contemporary Art, and will take place this fall in the
Region of Murcia, Spain.
For one week each, five artists will be selected to live and work in a dark,
visually distorted exhibition space. To support them in their life and work
for the week, the artist will collaborate with a local Murcian assistant who
is blind.
In cooperation with her/his assistant, the artist will use the one-week
residency to create a guided tour of the non-visual space and experience in
which s/he is living. The blind assistant will be the guide of this tour in
Hope is the feeling that represents the possibility to get what we wish, which means that is related to desires. In that sense, the body moves in a smooth way and thus we adopt an attitude of tranquility, trying and waiting to reach this desire.
