Call to Artists

Artists are invited to submit qualifications for art opportunities at Farmdale Station on the Metro Expo Line, which is currently under construction. This is an ideal opportunity for both emerging and established artists with a background in any two-dimensional media and a desire to expand their studio practice to include public art. Previous public art experience is not a requirement for this project.

COLLAGE DANCE THEATRE (CDT) is seeking a PART-TIME PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Position Description:

This is a part-time (estimated 20 hours per week,) on-site
(no-telecommuting,) exempt/salaried position. Occasional evening/weekend
hours required to ensure smooth operations of all performances and special
events. Position will start immediately after hire.

The PROGRAM DIRECTOR (PD), working closely with the Artistic Director and
Managing Director, is responsible for the overall project management of the
company, including the planning and physical realization of each production.
In addition to overseeing projects, the PD would research new opportunities
for long-term program development in areas such as university residencies

The ROBERT BERMAN GALLERY located in Bergamot Station Arts Center in Santa Monica seeks bright, responsible, motivated intern to assist with daily gallery operations, exhibitions and events. Responsibilities include administrative tasks, greeting clients, art research, assisting with show openings (price lists, press packets, email blasts, etc.) and special projects as assigned. Candidates must be able to receive college credit. Photoshop and other graphic/web design skills a plus as is an interest in contemporary art.

Flexible schedule.

Salary: Unpaid / School Credit Only.

Native Voices @ the Autry
Annual Call for Scripts

Mission: Native Voices at the Autry is the nation's premiere theatre company dedicated to the development and production of new works for the stage by Native American and First Nations artists.

Last week, I took a break from programming & composing in my studio, and caught up with friends about artistic opportunities, and recent successes and works in progress. A multi media artist friend told me very enthusiastically, about an opportunity to submit photographs for an inclusion into an artistic concept . After my initial enthral, I made a few calls, talked turkey, and started to plough through my own archives of digital pictures, some of which I considered artistic and individualistic enough to enter. I cropped, altered and re-jigged about a dozen or so, to make them entry ready, and uploaded them to the requistie private server space. Later that day, I ended up in a pro photgraphic studio, to catch up with another friend who was snapping a five piece band.
