In celebration of the 2011 TED Conference theme "The Rediscovery of Wonder", which reflects the sense of wonder and exuberance that children naturally possess and enables artists to create their best work, LarkGallery Online and national nonprofit The Dreaming Zebra Foundation have initiated the competition to invite artists worldwide to respond to this theme, and to create and present their artwork for juried competition and exhibition, while raising funds to support Arts Education for students in need throughout the country.

The Consortium of Asian American Theaters and Artists (CAATA) is looking for extremely organized individuals with excellent people skills to help coordinate the conference and festival portions in key positions of the Third National Asian American Theater Conference and Festival from June 16-26, 2011 in Los Angeles.
CAATA is looking for Los Angeles residents with experience in conference or festival organizing, or marketing/pr of Asian American events, or stage management, or technical theater. A knowledge of the Asian American community as well as a passion for Asian American theater is helpful. The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with a calm demeanor is required. There is some pay. Some positions start immediately.

Exhibition Dates: June 11 to July 3, 2011
Organized by the Southern California Women's Caucus for Art, this
exhibition seeks to inspire a public conversation on democracy and art
as part of a year-long democracy initiative at Avenue 50 Studio that
includes exhibitions and programs supported, in part, by a California
Council for the Humanities grant.
We encourage Southern California artists at all career levels whose
artwork addresses the topic of art and democracy to submit works that
speak-to and question the shifting meanings of freedom and equality,
censorship and civil liberties and specifically consider the role of
art in a democracy. Or, simply put, does democracy need art?
Assistant House Manager
The John Anson Ford Amphitheatre is seeking an experience, qualified
Assistant House Manager for the over 100 performances presented at the
Ford Amphitheatre this spring and summer. The 1241-seat outdoor Ford
Amphitheatre is set in the Hollywood Hills just across from the
Hollywood Bowl and features multi-cultural events including music,
dance, and film festivals. The Ford Amphitheatre Season is a program of
the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.
