continuation of its Cultural Exchange International (CEI) Fellowship
Grant Program. Application instructions and forms will be uploaded to the DCA website (culturela.org) by November 14, 2012. Information about CEI is currently available on the City's Business Assistance Virtual Network (BAVN), at labavn.org; you will need to register for an account on the labavn.org website to download the guidelines. Proposals are due on Friday December 14, 2012.

The Spring Exhibition ('Forårsudstillingen') is one of the most important open submission exhibitions in Europe, and has been held annually in Copenhagen since 1857. It originated as an exhibition showing new works by Danish artists and now features participants from many countries. Over the years, it has included early works by such renowned international figures as Alvar Aalto, Per Kirkeby, Olafur Eliasson, Kirstine Roepstorff and many others. The exhibition is organised by Charlottenborg Fonden.

Artists are invited to exhibit their work with ALISN at Supermarket Art Fair in Stockholm, Sweden in February 2013. Richard Martinez holds an M.A. in Art from Claremont Graduate School. His art career began when he received scholarships to Chouinard’s Art Institute and University of Guanajuato. He has worked with greats like Millard Sheets, Robert E. Wood and Milford Zornes, recently serving as a curator for the Zorne’s birthday art show. Rich is a Watercolor West Signature Artist and has participated in national and international shows. He is presenting ideas about how he creates his award-winning paintings. The seminar is $25 and is held at the City of Brea Art Gallery. Join us to see his work, lectures and demonstrations live on Saturday, December 1 from 10 AM to 3 PM! Open Call for Puppetry Acts
The Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles, seeks 8-10 puppetry performances for a one-day Family Puppet Festival on Sunday, April 7, 2013. The Festival will feature a wide range of puppetry, from small to large scale, utilizing diverse media, and drawing on a variety of cultural traditions.

Community Connectome presents Nurture The Environment on Sunday November 18, 2012 from 3-9pm featuring an art exhibition, musical performances, a conference, and creative re-use workshops. The underlying theme for this event is coastal conservation. My empathic ability came through here. I often imagine I am the figures I paint. In this case I was playing with the mirror image in reverse so to speak.
