CALL FOR FOLK MUSICIANS
Muck Roots All-Stars
The Muckenthaler Cultural Center Foundation, otherwise known as "The Muck," will be auditioning musicians and singer/songwriters for an all-star folk music group in 2013. The selected band members will be guided by the Muckenthaler with paid gigs, promotions, YouTube videos, band management and recordings.
Auditions will be held at 8 AM, Saturday, February 2nd, 2013.
To be eligible to audition you must:
· Be over 18 years of age (or be over 13 years of age and accompanied by a parent or guardian)
· Be on time
· Be able to work in a group
· Have a great work ethic
· Have a passion to be a professional music artist
· Be able to sing harmony
· Be free for rehearsals on Tuesday evenings and gigs on weekends

Assistant Professor in Painting Position
The University of California, Riverside, has initiated a search to hire a tenure track Assistant Professor in Painting beginning July 1, 2013
The candidate should be an artist working primarily with painting and drawing. We desire a candidate who is a working artist with a significant exhibition history and has a broad understanding of the history and contemporary practice within the medium, as well as the practical and theoretical implications of new technologies.
Site Coordinator
Working under the regular supervision of the Education Manager, the Site
Coordinator provides support for Ryman Arts classes on site, as well as
in outreach efforts and recordkeeping. This position will involve
coordinating the logistics of weekly Saturday classes at California
State University, Fullerton, coordinating the outreach efforts to
recruit new students for Ryman Arts, keeping records on students and
tracking information about both students and schools. Ensuring clear
communication between the Los Angeles and Orange County sites will be a
key part of this position.

George T.M. Shackelford, Juror
Shackelford is the Senior Deputy Director of the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. Most recently he co-curated the exhibitionDegas and the Nude with Xavier Rey, Curator of Paintings at the Musée d'Orsay, while serving as Chair of Art of Europe at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
The Skirball Cultural Center seeks an accomplished communications
professional with superior editorial and project management skills, as well
as experience in media relations, to serve as Communications Manager. The
Communications Manager creates a variety of communications materials on a
tight schedule as part of a small, efficient, and close-knit team. The
position reports to the Vice President of Communications and Marketing.
*Responsibilities:*
- Understand and communicate institutional mission, values, and content
to both general and target markets to drive attendance, stimulate revenue,
and diversify audiences and customer/client base. Ensure that messages are
clear, compelling, consistent, and effective.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING COORDINATOR
The Skirball Cultural Center seeks an enthusiastic and highly competent
team player to serve as Communications and Marketing Coordinator. The
position is responsible for coordinating details of key communications and
marketing initiatives, with an emphasis on e-mail campaigns, web content
updates, community outreach, and publicity support. The Communications and
Marketing Coordinator reports to the Marketing Director.
*Responsibilities:*
- Plan and execute wide variety of e-mail marketing communications.
Assist in analyzing e-mail campaign effectiveness. Maintain e-lists.
- Assist in planning and executing grassroots outreach to family
audiences; consular, community, and cultural organizations; online
DCA has just confirmed a new Cultural Exchange International (CEI) partnership with The Bali Purnati Center for the Arts in Bali, Indonesia. The Center is collaborating with DCA to support up to two (2) one-month residencies in FY 2013-2014 for Los Angeles-based creative professionals as their host in Bali.
